Sunset Park

Sunset Park is a small oceanfront amusement park on the La Libertad malecón, with a Ferris wheel, family rides, food stands, and direct views over the Pacific. It is not a reason to cross the country, but it has become one of the most pleasant places in town to be at golden hour.

The park works best as part of a waterfront circuit: fish market, pier, seafood lunch, then a slow stroll as the sun drops behind the coast. Families from San Salvador fill it on weekends, so visit on a weekday evening if you want the calmer version.

A story
Sunset Park was built as part of a wider attempt to clean up and revive the port waterfront. It changed the mood of the malecón after dark: families now linger for rides and snacks, rather than treating the pier as a quick seafood stop before heading home.
