Getting There

By air: Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) is on the southwestern tip of the island, about 8km from St. George's. Direct flights operate from the UK (British Airways, Virgin Atlantic), the US (via American Airlines through Miami, and connecting services via Barbados or Trinidad), and Toronto. Most European travellers connect through Barbados or Trinidad. The airport is small and straightforward to clear.

From the airport, there are no public buses but taxis run to all points on the island at set government-regulated fares. The ride to St. George's costs around EC$60–80 (roughly US$22–30). To Grand Anse Beach it is EC$35–45.

By sea: Cruise ships dock at the Esplanade terminal on the Carenage in St. George's, or anchor in the outer harbour for tender service. Grand Anse Beach is a short taxi ride from the port. The Carenage is also a popular anchorage for yachts; the Grenada Yacht Club and several marinas cater to cruising sailors.

Inter-island ferries: Osprey Lines operates a daily high-speed catamaran from the Carenage in St. George's to Hillsborough on Carriacou (roughly 2 hours, EC$80 each way) and on to Petit Martinique. Departure is typically at 9am from Grenada, returning at 3:30pm from Carriacou. Schedules can shift; confirm before you travel.
