Grand Etang Visitor Centre

The visitor centre at the south end of the lake is the obvious starting point for any visit to the reserve. It sits in a low timber building with a deck looking out over the crater, and houses a small interpretation centre with displays on the geology, the forest types, and the wildlife — particularly the mona monkeys and the Grenada dove.

Rangers can advise on current trail conditions, recommend local guides for the longer walks, and sell the trail map. There is a small café for drinks and snacks. The centre is open daily during daylight hours; a small entrance fee covers access to the lake area and the short trails.
