The closest proper beach to Jacmel, Raymond les Bains is a long stretch of soft golden sand backed by coconut palms, about a fifteen-minute drive east of town. The water is clear and shallow enough for easy swimming, and the breeze keeps the heat manageable even at midday.
A line of small wood-and-thatch restaurants behind the beach serves grilled fish, fried plantains, and cold Prestige beer. On Sundays the beach fills with Haitian families from Jacmel and Port-au-Prince; weekdays you'll have most of it to yourself.
