Parroquia de San Jose Obrero

Monumental neo-Gothic parish church whose twin towers dominate central Arandas.

The Parroquia de San Jose Obrero is the church that gives Arandas its skyline. Its twin spires, large rose window, and pointed neo-Gothic facade were inspired by European cathedral architecture, but the church belongs completely to this highland Mexican town.

Come early or late in the day, when the stone catches the low light and the plaza is busiest. Even if you only have a short stop in Arandas, this is the sight you should not miss.
