Museo de la Estacion occupies the town's restored former railway station. It is a small regional history museum, strongest on Atotonilco El Alto's local story and the Cristero War, the late-1920s conflict between Catholic rebels and the post-revolutionary Mexican state.
Opening hours are limited, so check before making a special trip. If it is open, it adds useful depth to a town that can otherwise be reduced too quickly to tequila labels.
