Guava is Calvillo's signature crop, and the easiest way to taste it is in the sweet shops around the centre. Look for ate de guayaba, guava rolls, candies, preserves, and liqueurs.
This is more useful than a single named shop because the fun is browsing. Buy a few small things before leaving town; they travel better than most plaza snacks.
