Culiacan has its own international airport, the General Federal Leobardo C. Ruiz International Airport (CUL), served by domestic flights from Mexico City, Guadalajara, Tijuana, and other major Mexican cities. Aeromexico, Volaris, and VivaAerobus all serve the route from Mexico City, with flights taking around two hours. International connections require a change at a major hub.
By road, Culiacan sits on the main Pacific coast highway (MEX-15D) running from Nogales on the US border south through Mazatlan and on to Tepic and Guadalajara. The Central de Autobuses de Culiacan has frequent first-class service to Mazatlan (around 2.5 hours), Los Mochis (3 hours), and Hermosillo (6 hours) with ETN, Tufesa, and TAP. The bus is comfortable and fast on the toll road — a better option than flying for shorter regional hops.
