Regional art museum with an early Diego Rivera self-portrait

Housed in a handsome early-20th-century building, the Art Museum of Sinaloa holds a permanent collection that punches well above its weight for a regional museum. The highlight is the Jewels Room, which includes a 1906 self-portrait by Diego Rivera alongside works by Rufino Tamayo, Francisco Toledo, and Jose Luis Cuevas. Seven additional rooms host rotating exhibitions of contemporary Mexican art.
