Socavón de San Juan is a historic mine site where visitors can learn about El Oro's gold-mining years and see old mining technology. The highlight is a guided walk into the former tunnels, usually with a helmet and a cooler underground temperature than the streets outside.
It pairs well with the Mining Museum and Tiro Norte, which together make El Oro's mining boom easier to understand.
