Cerrito del Cristo Rey is the hilltop lookout above Ixtlán, marked by a statue of Christ and a stairway of more than 500 steps. The climb is short but steep enough to feel earned, and the reward is a broad view over the town, valley, and surrounding hills.
You can also reach the top by road. The last Sunday in October brings a local religious celebration, but outside festival time it is mainly a quiet viewpoint and a good way to get your bearings.
