Playa Mermejita sits west of Punta Cometa and feels much less contained than Mazunte's town beaches. The sand is darker, the surf is stronger, and the horizon feels wider.
Come for a walk, sunset, or a quieter hour away from the main beach lanes. Treat swimming carefully; this is open Pacific water, not a protected cove.
