5 Blogs for Mérida and the Yucatán

A magazine that has covered the state for 38 years, two publications written from Mérida in English, and the woman who has been blogging the city since 2016

Mérida has something almost no other city on this list does: a real English-language press of its own. Three of these five are published from the city, which means the cenote you read about last week is the one that just reopened, and the festival listing is accurate. Between them they cover the Paseo de Montejo mansions, the haciendas, the Sunday street closures, the food that is Yucatecan rather than Mexican, and the day trips to Uxmal, Izamal and the coast.

Read the two expat-facing ones with the knowledge of what they are — they're written for people moving there, not passing through, and that turns out to be unusually useful context for a visitor too.
