Nueva Rosita is located in northeastern Coahuila, about 100 kilometres south of Piedras Negras and the US border crossing at Eagle Pass, Texas. The main road connection is Highway 57, which runs north to Piedras Negras and south toward Monclova and Saltillo.
From Piedras Negras (and the US border), the drive takes about 1.5 hours. From Saltillo to the south, it is about 3 hours. There is bus service from Saltillo, Monclova, and Piedras Negras through the main carriers (Omnibus de México, Noreste). The town has no airport; the nearest are at Monclova and Piedras Negras.
