The Museo de la Insurgencia occupies the old Hacienda de San Blas, the building that gives Pabellón de Hidalgo its reason to be on a travel map. After the insurgent defeat at Calderon Bridge, Miguel Hidalgo and the retreating army came here; soon after, Hidalgo was removed from command.
The museum covers the independence story through galleries, murals, and the architecture of the hacienda itself. The surrounding gardens and nearby ruins help make the visit feel like a place rather than only a room of exhibits.
