The best thing to do in San José del Pacífico is walk above the village. Trails and rough tracks climb into pine and oak forest, where the view changes fast: one minute fog, the next a long blue opening toward the Pacific.
Ask locally before heading out, especially after rain or if you want a longer route. This is not a manicured hiking resort; the appeal is the loose, lived-in mountain setting.
