Tamohí

Huastec archaeological zone near Tamuín, linked to river trade, mural fragments, and fine sculpture.

Tamohí, also known as El Consuelo, is the other public archaeological zone near Tamuín. It was an important Huastec centre between roughly the 11th and 13th centuries, with platforms, elite spaces, mural traces, shell work, pottery, and sculpture.

It is quieter than Tamtoc and less visually obvious at first glance, but the setting on the river edge helps explain why Huastec towns here were tied to trade as much as ceremony.
