Laguna Atlangatepec sits about 20 kilometres from Tlaxco and opens the trip out into the surrounding countryside. It is a practical local recreation spot as much as a sight, used for fishing, boating, and slow afternoons by the water.
Come here if you have your own transport and want to make Tlaxco more than a walk around the plaza. The lake is at its best when you treat it as a quiet nature stop rather than a polished attraction.
