Baseball in La Laguna is not a casual pastime — it is a local obsession that sets the region apart from most of Mexico, where football dominates everything. The Vaqueros Laguna play their home games at Estadio de la Revolución, and a night game here during the Mexican Baseball League season (roughly March to August) is one of the more entertaining things you can do in Torreón. The atmosphere is festive and loud, tickets are inexpensive, and the crowd's knowledge of the game is real.
The stadium has hosted games since the mid-twentieth century and has seen the Laguna region produce players who have made it to the major leagues in the United States. If you are in town when the Santos Laguna football club is also playing at home, you will find the city genuinely animated — but baseball has the longer history here and the more devoted following among older residents.
