Jan Thiel Beach

Jan Thiel is the opposite of Bandabou's small public coves: a busy, managed beach with loungers, restaurants, shops, watersports, and music that continues after sunset. Much of the swimming area is built around a sheltered saltwater pool rather than a natural sweep of sand.

Come for convenience and atmosphere, not solitude. There is an admission charge and weekend evenings can be loud. It works well at the end of an eastern driving loop when a shower, meal, and easy swim matter more than untouched scenery.
