Bandariba is Curaçao east of Willemstad: drier, more open country wrapped around Spanish Water, Caracas Bay, and Sint Joris Bay. It is less immediately beautiful than Bandabou, but it makes an excellent day of history, snorkelling, and stops that reveal a stranger side of the island.
The Caracas Bay peninsula is the strongest cluster. Climb Fort Beekenburg, snorkel over the shallow Tugboat wreck, then cool off at Director's Bay. All three are close together, though the roads and entrances are not always well marked.
Farther inland, Den Paradera preserves local knowledge of medicinal plants, while the Curaçao Ostrich Farm is an eccentric but enjoyable family stop. Jan Thiel Beach provides the polished finish: busy, commercial, and useful when you want facilities rather than solitude.
