Playa Cacique is the most accessible beach on the island, a short walk from the airstrip and fronting the main resort area. It is sheltered, calm, and the first place most visitors end up. The water is shallow near the shoreline, which makes it good for families.
Being the most central beach, it is also the busiest — particularly on weekend afternoons when day-trippers arrive on the morning flights. Come early in the day or after 4pm if you want the sand to yourself. A couple of small beach bars operate here during the high season.
