Playa Larga is the longest beach on Contadora — a wide sweep of white sand that curves along the island's southern coast. It is quieter than Playa Cacique, less visited than it deserves, and wide enough that you can almost always find a patch of sand to yourself. The water is calm and clear, excellent for swimming.
At low tide the beach extends noticeably, exposing a flat shelf of sand that is good for walking the full length. Snorkelling is possible at the rocky outcrops at either end of the bay, where you will find parrotfish, angelfish, and the occasional spotted ray resting on the sandy bottom.
