Meteti is roughly 270 kilometres east of Panama City by road. Buses run from Albrook Bus Terminal in Panama City several times daily, taking around five to six hours. The road is paved all the way and passable year-round in ordinary vehicles. Shared taxis and minibuses also cover the route between Metetà and Yaviza for the final stretch east. There is no rail service and no commercial air service directly to Meteti; the nearest airport with regular flights is at La Palma, the provincial capital, accessible by boat.
