San Cristóbal Canyon is the big natural reason to come to Aibonito. The gorge cuts through the central mountains between Aibonito and Barranquitas, with waterfalls, pools, and steep green walls that feel far from the coastal Puerto Rico most visitors know.
Go with current local guidance or a guide if you plan to descend into the canyon. The terrain is wet and rugged, and this is not a casual roadside lookout dressed up as a hike.
