A 1.5-kilometre strip of white sand running along the Atlantic-facing side of Condado, with the row of high-rise hotels at its back. Condado is the most accessible beach in San Juan — fifteen minutes by taxi from Old San Juan — and the most crowded.
Conditions vary along the strip. The eastern section, by Calle Vendig, has a small bay sheltered by a rocky pier where the water is calm enough for children to swim. The central section can have strong rip currents and is unguarded; check the flags. The western end at Condado Lagoon has dangerous currents and is not for swimming. Beach equipment rental, food kiosks, and washrooms are spaced along the back of the beach.
