Museo de Arte Contemporáneo

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) occupies a striking 1916 building — the former Rafael María de Labra high school — at the corner of Roberto H. Todd and Ponce de León in Santurce. The collection focuses on Puerto Rican and Latin American art from 1960 onward, with strong holdings of Antonio Martorell, Pepón Osorio, and Allora & Calzadilla.

The building was badly damaged by Hurricane María in 2017 and has been undergoing phased renovation; programming runs through partner venues, and you should check the current state before going. When fully open it is one of the most rewarding contemporary art stops in the Caribbean.
