The natural day trips from PSV are to the islands immediately to the north. Mayreau is the gateway to the Tobago Cays — the five small uninhabited islands inside the famous Horseshoe Reef, with the best snorkelling in the country and a reliable population of green turtles. Union Island has the closest airport, a yacht harbour, and a small town worth half a day. Most PSV guests make the trip out by the resort's own boat.
Petite Martinique, just south, is part of Grenada rather than Saint Vincent and is a quieter, more authentically inhabited alternative to PSV's resort cocoon. The bar at Palm Beach makes a useful lunch stop.
