Beaches

Gulf Shores is built around the beach, but the coast changes character quickly. The public beach at the end of Highway 59 is the social centre, with lifeguards, food nearby, and easy access if you want a few hours of sand without planning much.

For a quieter beach day, use Gulf State Park or drive west toward Fort Morgan and Bon Secour. The farther you get from the main junction, the more the coast starts to feel like a barrier island again.
