A small but well-run zoo focused on northern species — polar bears, brown bears, lynx, wolves, snowy owls, musk ox, and a single Asian elephant who has lived here since 1967. Most of the animals are orphans or rescues. The enclosures are large by zoo standards, set in forest, and the wood-chip paths make for an easy hour or two.
A good rainy-day option, particularly with kids. The zoo is open year-round; in winter the bears are more active than in summer.
