Silver Gulch Brewing and Bottling

Silver Gulch holds the distinction of being the northernmost brewery in the United States, a fact it displays proudly. The brewpub is located about 10 miles south of downtown Fairbanks on the Old Richardson Highway in Fox, a former mining settlement.

The beer is solid — the Copper Creek Amber Ale and the Pick Axe Porter are the staples, and seasonal releases are worth trying. Unlike HooDoo, Silver Gulch runs a full restaurant serving burgers, steaks, and pub food in generous portions. The dining room is large, rustic, and usually busy. It makes a good stop if you are heading out to or returning from the Chena Hot Springs Road or the Steese Highway. The drive out from town is scenic, winding through birch and spruce forest.
