Chair 5 is the locals' bar, a few minutes walk from the lifts on the main road through the residential part of Girdwood. Pizza, halibut tacos, the longest beer list in the valley — a wall of Alaskan craft taps and a cooler of bottles. The pool table at the back is the social centre.
The vibe is shabby ski-town and exactly what it should be. Open until midnight on weekends, music most Fridays in season.
