Jack Sprat

Jack Sprat sits at the base of the Alyeska tram and has been the smartest restaurant in Girdwood for two decades. The menu — billed as "fat and lean world cuisine" — runs from Moroccan lamb tagine and Vietnamese clay-pot fish to a serious Alaska seafood paella and the kind of beef burger that earns Yelp essays.

The dining room is woody and warm, the wine list is well chosen for Alaska, and the deck looks straight up at the ski runs. Booking essential on weekends. Brunch is excellent.
