Grandview Trail

Steep historic South Rim trail into the Grand Canyon, demanding but superbly scenic

Grandview Trail is one of the Grand Canyon's serious South Rim hikes, dropping steeply from Grandview Point on an old mining route. The views are immediate and enormous, but the trail is rough, exposed, and far less forgiving than the rim paths.

Treat it with respect. Even a short descent gives a powerful canyon experience, but the climb back is hard, water is essential, and summer heat can turn ambition into trouble quickly. For fit hikers who prepare properly, it is a superb alternative to the busier corridor trails.
