North Rim

The quieter, higher side of Grand Canyon National Park, open seasonally above the inner canyon

The North Rim is the slower, cooler, and less crowded side of the Grand Canyon. It sits more than 8,000 feet above sea level, with forested approaches and viewpoints that feel very different from the busier South Rim circuit.

Its short season matters: services usually run from mid-May into autumn, depending on snow. If you make the drive, plan around the lodge area, Bright Angel Point, Cape Royal, and enough time to enjoy the silence between viewpoints.
