The Rim Trail is a mostly paved, generally flat route along the South Rim, linking major viewpoints with quieter overlooks. It is useful for visitors who want canyon views without taking on a steep descent, and many sections are close to shuttle stops and parking areas.
One section includes the Trail of Time, an interpretive walk that uses signs and rock samples to explain the canyon's geologic history.
