The Fox Tucson Theatre opened in 1930 as one of the southwest's grandest movie palaces — Art Deco with Southwest motifs, geometric ceilings, neon, and Native-American-inspired decorative panels. After decades of decline it sat empty for thirty years; a meticulous public restoration in 2005 brought it back as a working concert hall.
Tour the interior during one of the regularly scheduled open days, or catch a concert: the program runs jazz, classical, indie rock, and Spanish-language touring acts.
