Brewer's Mill

Brewer's Mill, on the western edge of the Mountain View business district, is a surviving early-20th-century gristmill and feed operation, now on the National Register. The plain whitewashed plank building and its surrounding outbuildings show what small-town milling looked like before the consolidation of agriculture — local farmers brought wheat and corn for grinding and feed for purchase, and the mill was a daily commercial centre of the town.

It is not formally a museum and is not always open, but the exterior is photogenic and the buildings are easily reached on foot from the square in five minutes. Combine with the walk to look at the John F. Brewer House one block south of the courthouse.
