Mountain View is not on a major highway and has no commercial air service. You arrive by car. The town sits at the junction of Arkansas Highways 5, 9, and 14, two and a half hours' drive north of Little Rock — the most useful airport — and about two hours from Memphis if approaching from the east. The drive in along Highway 14 from the east or Highway 9 from Heber Springs is itself one of the pleasures of the trip, twisting through the Ozark hills.
There is no Greyhound or Amtrak service. Local taxis are scarce; rent a car at Little Rock and plan on having it for the duration of the visit.
