The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History is a well-curated regional history museum covering the Arkansas Ozarks from Native American occupation through the frontier period and into the twentieth century. The collection includes farm tools, domestic objects, photographs, and oral history recordings from families who have lived in the region for generations.
The museum's campus also includes several historic structures relocated from around the Ozarks — a log cabin, a country store, and several outbuildings that give a tangible sense of the landscape and material culture of the region. It is a genuinely good small museum: specific, honest about the hardships of Ozark life, and surprisingly engaging even for visitors without a particular interest in regional history.
