Crystal Springs Regional Trail

Reservoir-side trail on the hills above the San Francisco Peninsula

Crystal Springs Regional Trail follows the eastern edge of the Crystal Springs watershed, with long views over the reservoir and the wooded spine of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The paved and well-graded sections make it one of the most accessible outdoor escapes on the Peninsula, good for walking, running and easy cycling.

From Burlingame it is a short hop west into a much quieter landscape than the bayside suburbs suggest. The trail is especially good in clear weather, when the water, dam and ridge lines make a clean break from airport hotels and commuter traffic.
