Mills Canyon Park is a small but satisfying patch of woodland tucked into Burlingame's hills. Short trails climb through trees and seasonal greenery, giving the Peninsula city a more natural side than its airport hotels and shopping streets suggest.
It is a local walk, not a major Bay Area hike, but it clears the bar if you are staying nearby and want fresh air without driving far. Wear shoes with grip after rain, when the canyon paths can be muddy.
