Avila Beach Pier runs straight out from the centre of town and gives the beach its easiest view: the curve of San Luis Bay, the hills behind town, and the working harbour farther west at Port San Luis.
It is not a grand amusement pier. That is part of the charm. Come for a stroll, fishing, or a quiet look back at the waterfront.
