The Ferry Landing is where the Coronado Ferry docks, and it doubles as a small waterfront complex of shops, restaurants, and a market that operates on Tuesdays. The main reason to come is the view: the San Diego skyline rises directly across the bay, close enough that you can pick out individual buildings. On clear days — most days in San Diego — it is one of the best skyline views in the city, better in some ways than the view from downtown itself.
A paved path along the water's edge runs north from the ferry landing toward the bridge. The walk takes about twenty minutes and passes a small park; you can see the Coronado Bridge up close from below. Rent bikes from one of the shops at the landing to extend the trip south along the Silver Strand.
