Palm Desert eats well. El Paseo and Highway 111 between them have most of the city's restaurants, and the quality runs from outstanding seasonal cuisine to honest valley-style hamburgers. Outside El Paseo, plenty of strip-mall locations turn out genuinely good food — the desert is full of refugees from Los Angeles kitchens.
