Escondido is 30 miles north of San Diego. By car, take Interstate 15 north from downtown San Diego — the journey takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. The SPRINTER hybrid rail line runs from Oceanside to Escondido Transit Center, making it possible to get here without a car from the coast; combined with a bus connection from the Coaster rail service, you can reach Escondido from San Diego without driving. The city is also accessible via bus from central San Diego (Route 235 from Kearny Mesa).
There is no airport in Escondido. San Diego International Airport (SAN) is the closest option, about 35 miles south.
