Stone Brewing is one of the best-known craft breweries in the United States, and its World Bistro and Gardens at the Escondido headquarters is a destination in its own right. The restaurant is set in a converted warehouse surrounded by gardens, with an outdoor dining area full of palms and boulders that feels like a Southern California fantasy version of a beer garden.
The food menu is more ambitious than the standard brewery pub — wood-fired pizzas, grilled fish tacos, large salads, and rotating seasonal specials — and everything is designed to pair with the beers. The selection runs from the flagship Arrogant Bastard Ale and Stone IPA through experimental and barrel-aged releases. Tours of the brewery are available and end with a tasting. Given that this is the company's home base, the selection and freshness here are better than anywhere else.
