The Lighthouse Cafe is Hermosa's best-known music room, sitting close to the beach but carrying a deeper jazz history than the address suggests. It has hosted generations of musicians and remains a useful antidote to the more generic bar crawl around Pier Avenue.
Check the calendar rather than assuming a particular style of night. The room can swing from jazz to rock to cover bands, but it is still one of the more characterful places to go after dark in Hermosa.
