Pier Avenue is Hermosa's social spine, a short walkable strip of restaurants, bars, surf shops, and beach-bound foot traffic. It is not elegant, but it is energetic, and it gives the small city a clear centre.
Use it as your base if you are arriving without much of a plan. You can eat, drink, rent beach gear, and reach the sand without needing to move the car again.
