Diamond Peak is the local ski area above Incline Village, smaller and less frantic than the headline Tahoe resorts but blessed with superb lake views. On clear days the upper runs seem to drop straight toward the blue water of Lake Tahoe.
It works best for families, intermediate skiers, and travellers staying on the Nevada side who do not want a long drive. In summer, check for hiking and scenic events rather than assuming full resort operations.
